atmos, the Tokyo sneaker shop founded in 2000 by Hidefumi Hommyo with Hirofumi Kojima as creative director, is behind the Air Max 1's best-known collaborations, and 'We Love Nike' is its 2018 entry. Where earlier atmos pairs used Safari and elephant prints, this one turns to Nike's own packaging: a repeating greyscale graphic of stacked shoeboxes covers the side panels. The upper is leather throughout, a change from the usual mesh build, and the pair released on May 26, 2018 at $140.
The colour scheme is white, Game Royal and Neutral Grey, the same three tones as the OG royal Air Max 1, so the shoebox print sits inside a familiar palette. Game Royal takes the eyelets, the Swoosh and the mudguard, while the outsole mixes black with white and blue. It is a pair about Nike fandom as much as about the shoe, the box print standing in for the animal prints atmos usually reaches for. The shop followed it the next year with the giraffe-print Animal 3.0 DLX.
