This Comme des Garçons take on the Air Max 95 strips the upper back to a raw, unfinished look, with frayed textile panels moving through several shades of grey across the model's layered side construction. A pale suede wrap covers the toe, tying together the deconstructed treatment that first appeared on the Comme des Garçons Homme Plus runway in Paris. The layered, unraveled edges replace the smoother leather and suede finishes found on the model's standard releases, giving the shoe a more fashion oriented, workshop feel.
Underneath, a black midsole carries the shoe's visible Air cushioning, contrasting against the muted grey upper above it. Nike released the pair at retail on January 18, 2020 for $350, one of three colorways to come out of the Comme des Garçons collaboration. At that price it sits well above the model's general release tier, reflecting the collaboration's limited run and its runway origins rather than a mainline production.
