Concepts' second 'Ugly Christmas Sweater' SB Dunk High arrived for the 2017 holiday season, four years after the shop's first pair, and this is its grade-school edition. The whole upper is a knit sweater fabric in the tacky-on-purpose style of an office party pullover: snowmen, gingerbread men, sprigs of holly and stacked presents, worked across a blue ribbon ground. Red shows up as an accent and in the lining, a blue canvas Swoosh sits on the side panel, and the outsole is dyed to match it. A co-branded tongue tag carries the Concepts name. Kids' pairs retailed at $115, a step below the adult price.
The sequel came in full-family sizing, from adult down through grade school and preschool to toddler, so a whole household could wear matching sweaters on their feet; this page covers the grade-school run. Concepts launched the shoe at its own store first, with a wider release a few days later. The 2013 original had come in black as a Concepts exclusive and in heather grey for wider release, so switching to blue with red trim gave the follow-up its own identity while keeping the joke intact. Underneath the knit, the shoe is a standard Nike SB Dunk High with Zoom Air cushioning and a padded tongue and collar, which is why the pattern rides on a skateable shoe rather than a novelty slipper.
