Swapping leather for velvet changes how the shoe behaves in light. The nap on a velvet upper shifts tone as it moves, so a shoe that is white in the colour code is never a flat white in practice, and every panel seam catches differently. Everything else is kept quiet to let the material lead. The branding is tonal white on white: a woven tag on the tongue, a small Swoosh embroidered on the outer forefoot, and mismatched wordmarks on the heel tabs, Nike on one shoe and DSM on the other.
The sole is standard. A rubber cupsole with the tread pattern the Dunk was given for indoor courts in 1985, unchanged under a shoe that would not survive one. Dover Street Market released it on 5 February 2022 at 150 dollars, 30 dollars above a general release Dunk Low of that year.
