The Freak 8 is Giannis Antetokounmpo's eighth signature basketball shoe, and this "Buckitos" colorway runs bright: Hyper Pink and Oracle Pink through the base with Dynamic Yellow and Hyper Orange worked in. Underfoot Nike uses a ReactX midsole, the updated version of its React foam that the brand rates as 13 percent more responsive than the previous compound, kept light to suit a player who covers ground in long strides. A foam surround shaped after the Wings of Victory motif wraps the foot to hold it in place through lateral moves, and the outsole carries the traction pattern Nike developed for Antetokounmpo's line, aimed at stopping and pivoting rather than straight-line grip.
The collar is cut low and the shoe closes with standard laces rather than a strap or zip. Nike lists it across both men's and women's sizes and files it under basketball. It is priced at $115, and the release is set for Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10 a.m. Eastern, the same morning Nike is putting out a big kids' colorway of the Luka 5.
