The big-kids' Nike Flex Runner 4 uses a bootie-like opening with tall front and rear pull loops instead of a conventional tongue-and-lace arrangement. Bleached Lilac/White/Glacier Blue is the official palette, while the photographs also show a warm, gold-looking speckled band along the side. Pale blue accents outline the collar and toe covering. A thick lilac sole rises around the heel and separates into deep forefoot grooves underneath.
Stretchy straps help hold the foot within this slip-on design, and Nike specifies synthetic leather in the upper. A reinforced toe accompanies soft, springy foam cushioning; sturdy foam around the heel contributes support during changes of direction. The underside has rectangular forefoot sections and a smoother-looking rear zone.
