Jacquemus, the French fashion house, collaborated with Nike on this women's Air Max 1 '86, a line that brings back the shoe's original oversized four-pillar Air window from its late-1980s debut, before Nike shrank the bubble to the three-pillar design used ever since. Metallic silver leather covers the upper and midsole cage, with a midnight navy panel wrapping the heel counter for contrast against the reflective base. The enlarged Air unit at the heel is the defining feature of the '86 line, exposing more of the cushioning than any standard Air Max 1.
Nike released the pair July 10, 2024 at a retail price of $180, a premium reflecting both the Jacquemus collaboration and the leather build. The silver tone gives the shoe a metallic, almost liquid finish rather than the matte look of standard leather colorways, while the navy heel keeps the palette from reading as one flat tone. It joins a run of Big Bubble colorways that Nike has issued since reviving the oversized Air window in 2023.
