This pack came out of a banned commercial. In late 2004 Nike ran a kung-fu themed advert for LeBron James's second signature shoe in which he defeated a martial arts master, two women in traditional dress and a pair of dragons. Chinese regulators pulled it from the air for insulting national dignity, and Nike issued a public apology to Chinese consumers. The campaign's premise (a fighter moving through a series of rooms, each representing a fear to be overcome) survived it, and became a run of five Air Force 1s capped at a hundred and fifty pairs apiece, each tied to an American city. Complacency is the Chicago entry, stealth grey with silver and varsity blue on the overlays and the name of the fear lettered at the heel. Few sneaker packs are built on a campaign that had already been withdrawn.
