The Air Liquid Max is a newer entry in Nike's Air Max family, and its construction is unusual for the line. Instead of a fixed midsole, Nike uses a drop-in Cushlon foam unit that sits on top of what it calls a point-loaded Air system, an air setup with pressure concentrated at specific points rather than spread evenly under the foot. The upper is deliberately low-profile, built from a textured mesh that wraps the foot closely and flexes with it.
