About the Nike Air Max 1 Premium "Dirty Denim"

Tinker Hatfield, the architect-trained Nike designer behind the Air Max 1, drew the shoe's exposed Air window from the exterior pipework of Paris's Centre Pompidou museum. This Premium pair moves away from that architecture toward denim, treating the upper like a broken-in pair of jeans and reviving a Dirty Denim theme Nike first used on the model in 2003.

Indigo denim, washed for a lived-in look, forms the base of the upper, with a deeper blue suede applied across the toe and mudguard panels. Royal Blue detailing continues onto the stitched Swoosh, the tongue tag and the inside collar, and a yellow-toned Lemon Wash finish sets off the visible Air-sole midsole above a gum outsole. It released on August 26, 2022 for $150.
