What separates the Premium SC series from every other Air Max 1 is the jewel Swoosh. Instead of a stitched leather Swoosh, a compact pearlescent emblem sits on the side panel, and on this pair it comes in University Blue. Nike put the 'University Blue' out on December 31, 2016 at $140. The white leather upper and midsole keep the rest of the shoe clean, so the blue reads as a series of precise accents rather than a wash.
Those accents land on the leather mudguard, the Nike Air labels on tongue and heel, and the Air unit itself, which is tinted blue inside its window. The outsole is translucent rubber, and looking through it shows a large printed Swoosh across the bottom of the shoe. University Blue is a light, chalky blue, and on a white leather base it gives the shoe a fresh, almost pastel finish that works well into spring and summer.
