The Air Max 1 SC 'Field Purple' trades the model's usual suede for a smooth white leather upper, with black leather overlays at the eyestay and heel counter. Field Purple settles into the branding: a purple leather Swoosh, purple lace eyelets and a purple-tinted outsole replace the black rubber most Air Max 1s ship with. The SC designation marks Nike's simplified, leather-first construction of the silhouette, aimed at a cleaner, dressier look than the mesh-and-suede original.
Field Purple released in May 2024 at a $150 retail price, part of a run of SC colorways that rotate through single accent colors on an otherwise white or black base. The heel still carries a visible Max Air unit inside a white midsole, keeping the model's signature cushioning window even on the leather-heavy build.
