Storm Pink is a grade-school Air Max 1 SE built almost entirely from pink: Storm Pink as the lead tone, Rust Pink for a dustier note, Oracle Pink for a hotter one, and a plain pink alongside white to break the run. It released in July 2018 at $90. Rather than one flat colour, the four pinks are separated across the shoe's many panels, so the layered construction of the upper, mudguard and Swoosh does the work of the colour blocking.
A monochrome pink is about as far as the palette can travel from the shoe's original look, which paired white with University Red and neutral grey and is now known as the OG Red. What carries over is the structure: the sculpted midsole with the Max Air unit visible through a heel window, the layered panels, and the mudguard that wraps the toe. On a kids' shoe the tonal approach has a practical upside too, since a single colour family is easier to pair with a wardrobe than a loud multi-colour mix.
