FlyEase is Nike's system for getting a shoe on and off without the usual lacing routine, developed for people who find conventional fastening difficult and since applied across the company's running, basketball and lifestyle lines. On the Air Max 90 it means the entry point is rebuilt while the silhouette above it is left alone. This grade-school pair is finished entirely in black. The upper, the foam midsole and the rubber outsole all share the same shade, so the layered panels register as texture rather than colour blocks, and the heel Air window becomes the only real visual break.
Nike released it in August 2020 at $110. All-black is a sensible default for a youth shoe that will be worn hard, and it also suits the FlyEase build, where the closure hardware stays less conspicuous against a single tone. The result looks like a standard 90 from a few steps back, which is the point of the system: the adaptation is functional, not decorative.
