The Ultra 2.0 family rebuilds this shoe from the sole up. Nike replaced the original's dense foam and rubber stack with a lighter, more flexible unit while keeping the visible Air window at the heel, and the Ease construction pushes that simplification further into the upper. Colour here is understated. White covers the body and midsole, black picks out the branding and outlines, and Dusted Clay, a muted terracotta, lands on the accents as the only warm tone in the mix.
Nike released it in March 2017 at $140. Lightened versions like this one were how Nike kept the 90 in daily rotation through the mid 2010s, when heavier retro running shapes were being reworked across the industry. The compromise is real: you lose the density and the structure of the original build, and you gain a shoe that can be worn all day without noticing it.
