The 'Alien' colorway builds its Air Max 95 upper from layered panels in white, cerulean blue and a bright, orange toned shade Nike calls Magic Ember, with black covering the eyelets, heel counter and outsole. That contrast carries down to the sole, where the model's Air cushioning shows through windows at both the heel and forefoot, a layout the shoe has carried since Sergio Lozano's original 1995 design made it the first Nike running shoe to put visible Air in the front of the foot.
Nike released the 'Alien' colorway on April 2, 2020 at a retail price of $180. The upper keeps to the model's ridged, anatomy inspired panelling, with the blue and Magic Ember tones set against the white base and black trim rather than the darker grey gradients more commonly associated with the silhouette.
