Sergio Lozano built the original 1995 Air Max 95 around ideas of erosion and human anatomy, giving the upper a spine-like shank and rib-like eyelets. This Essential 'Black Grey' colorway moves from black at the base through dark grey and cool grey before settling into white, so the gradient itself runs dark to light rather than repeating the original's grey and neon scheme.
White eyestay straps extend up from the midsole and sit beneath horizontal overlays, tracing the same rib and muscle lines the silhouette has carried since its debut.
