Black uppers are standard issue in skate footwear, so the interest on this SB Blazer Mid comes from the washed coral, a faded pink-orange used against the black and white.
The SB version of the Blazer is not the basketball shoe with a new sticker on it. Nike reworked the model for skateboarding in 2005, adding a padded collar for ankle protection and Zoom Air cushioning underfoot to absorb landings, and the mid-cut silhouette has carried those changes ever since. Nike SB itself dates to 2002, when the company made a second attempt at the category after an earlier one failed. The MSRP was $85, in line with the rest of the SB Blazer Mid range rather than with the limited collaborations built on the same last.
