The original Skunk Dunk landed in 2010 as a Nike SB in-joke: purple and green, released on the twentieth of April, with a stash pocket sewn into the tongue and a skunk drawn onto the insole. Ten years later the line revisited it with the colours flipped (purple where the green had been, and a washed green Swoosh cutting across the panel) while keeping every one of the original's details rather than sanding them off. Production was fixed at 420 pairs, each numbered on the heel, and the release ran on the same date the joke depends on. Distribution went through a single Minneapolis skate shop, which is the part that matters: handing a limited colourway to one store rather than to an account list is the practice that built the model's reputation in the first place, and it was already becoming rare by 2020. Todd Bartrud, who drew the 2010 original, handled this one too. The pair sits on the high-top rather than the low that most of the era's collaborations used, and later editions shipped with a graphic box, a print and a keychain.
