About the Nike Dunk High Retro QS "Syracuse"
When Nike launched the Dunk in 1985 it was sold on team colours. The shoe was first shown as a college model, dressed in the palettes of the university basketball programmes Nike had signed, and the panelled upper made the two-tone scheme easy to read from the stands.
Syracuse was one of those programmes, and this 2016 Quickstrike brings its orange back to a Dunk High. The build is all leather, white across the base with Orange Blaze on the overlays, the Swoosh and the heel. There is no print, no embroidery and no added material: the colour is the whole idea. Nike put it out on 29 July 2016 at 120 dollars. QS marks a limited distribution, sent to a short list of doors rather than a general release, which is how Nike has usually handled the college colour retros since the line returned.
