HTM is the initials of three people: Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, whose occasional collaborations Nike has used since the early 2000s to try ideas before they reach the wider range. Their Kobe 9 Elite Low was the first time Flyknit appeared on the low-top version of that shoe, over Lunarlon cushioning and Flywire support, and it carried the details the series is known for: reflective flecked laces, anodised aglets, embossed snake scales and an HTM mark. Its release was as narrow as the concept: an exclusive launch in Milan timed to the city's furniture fair, followed by a small run in New York, with production reported at around a thousand pairs. White with gum is the softest treatment of a shoe that spent most of its life in darker finishes.
