Nike introduced Flyknit 360 in spring 2018 as the first version of the knit built as a complete tube: no separate panel attaching the upper to the sole, the material wrapping the foot the whole way round and bonding directly to the tooling. Kobe Bryant's line got one of the first four shoes to use it. That construction is what gives the model its outline: no visible seam, no exposed lace row, and an upper that reads as a sock stretched over a midsole rather than as a shoe with a top attached. Underneath sits a foam setup rather than a plate, with a herringbone traction pattern kept low to the floor in the way the line's shoes had been for a decade. This white version prints a multicolour speckle through the knit so the pattern shows how the yarn was laid instead of hiding it. Nike priced the model at $200, above the line's usual position, and it arrived two years after Bryant's retirement, when the signature line was functioning mainly as a place to test construction. Later colourways, including this one, followed through the same year.
