Leo Chang led the design of Kyrie Irving's third signature model, and the brief centred on a single movement: the shoe was built around a curved outsole meant to help a guard roll through a change of direction rather than plant flat, with the traction pattern arranged to grip through the turn. Forefoot Air cushioning sits low to the floor so court feel survives. It became one of the better-regarded performance models of its period and stayed in production long enough to carry a large number of graphic colourways, of which this is one, a black upper with orange and red running through it, a louder treatment than the team make-ups the line usually shipped. Nike was releasing these at a pace that had become normal for signature basketball by 2018, when a single model might carry twenty or more colourways in a season, most tied to a moment, a market or a player rather than to a design idea.
