By the fourteenth model the LeBron line had shed most of its armour, and the low version strips it further. It keeps the Air unit layout and support plate of the mid but cuts the collar down and reduces the upper to three thin layers (a stretch lining, a perforated foam and a mesh face), with Flywire cables handling lockdown and a full inner sleeve holding the fit. The Air units sit under the outer metatarsals, placed where James actually lands rather than spread evenly along the foot, a habit the line had held for several years by then. This colourway takes the whole shoe into a single off-white bone tone with ivory on the sole and no contrast anywhere, which reads as a summer lifestyle make-up more than a game shoe and matched how the low was mostly being worn. It arrived in mid-2017 below the price of the mid, and it sits near the end of the stretch before the line moved to full-length foam, which makes it a useful marker of where Nike's thinking on basketball cushioning turned.
