James joined Miami in 2010 and the arrangement was judged entirely on championships. The first came in 2012, when he posted a triple-double in the closing game against Oklahoma City and took Finals MVP. The second came a year later against San Antonio, decided across a sixth game he dragged back with sixteen fourth-quarter points and a seventh that finished the series. Back-to-back titles, MVP and Finals MVP in both years.
Nike released the Celebration Pack that August, pairing two versions of his tenth signature shoe at $500 for the set. The low is the more decorated of the two: a dense floral print covering the upper and repeated on the sockliner, gold picking out the branding, and a midsole that glows once the lights go down. Underneath it runs a full-length Max Air unit, the same visible-air technology Nike had been developing since 1987, here carried the entire length of a basketball shoe rather than sitting in the heel.
The companion Elite version goes the other way: red with gold branding and a gold lion at the lace lock.
