The name misleads people. Crimson Tint sounds like it should be a deep red; it is actually a washed-out pink with an orange cast, closer to salmon, and that is why it works against black. A true crimson on a black upper would read as a sports colorway. This reads as a muted one. Nike used it in three places only: a strip along the sidewall of the midsole, the heel tab and the tongue label. Everything else is black tumbled leather, textured rather than smooth, which gives the shoe depth without needing another color.
LE marks a limited make-up in Nike's coding rather than a construction change, so the shoe underneath is the standard '07 low-top, the trim introduced for the model's twenty-fifth anniversary and kept in production ever since. An Air unit sits encapsulated under the heel inside a rubber cupsole. Nike released it in women's sizing at $90.
