The Shell is the most literal outerwear reference Nike has put on this model. The upper is a high-cut synthetic panel treated to shed water, and it closes with toggle cinch loops rather than a lace-and-strap system, one at the collar and one at the heel tab, so the opening pulls shut the way a jacket hood does. Inside, the sockliner is lined in sherpa fleece.
All of that sits on an unchanged Air Force 1 sole unit, which is the joke of the shoe: winter gear from the ankle up, basketball tooling from the ankle down. Black covers the shell itself and Desert Sand handles the accents, a pale tan that picks out the hardware and the trim without brightening the shoe. Nike released it in women's sizing at $150, fifty dollars over a standard leather Air Force 1 High, which the additional construction accounts for.
