The Shadow duplicates everything: two Swooshes, two eyestays, two mudguards, two heel tabs, each pair offset so the second sits slightly behind the first. That construction only reads properly when the layers are different colors, which is why this makeup needs four of them.
None of the four is loud. Enigma Stone is a gray-taupe, Oatmeal a warm beige, Light Bone a pale off white, and white fills in the rest. Stacked across the doubled panels they produce depth rather than contrast, so the shoe looks like a single object seen through several layers of tracing paper rather than a color-blocked sneaker. The midsole is built up beyond standard Air Force 1 tooling, adding height to match the extra material above it. Nike released the Shadow exclusively in women's sizing, and this leather version carried a $120 price, twenty dollars above a general-release low-top.
