Atmos, the Tokyo sneaker boutique founded in 2000 by Hidefumi Hommyo, treated this women's Air Max 1 to a camouflage-and-animal-print makeover for 2013 as part of an Animal Camo pack. The leather upper mixes a desert camo base with leopard print overlays in metallic gold silk, black and classic brown, and a black snakeskin-textured Swoosh sits on the quarter panel. The combination reads as a heavier pattern mix than atmos's later, single-print Air Max 1 collaborations.
Underfoot, a white polyurethane midsole carries the visible Max Air unit in the heel, set against a rum-toned rubber outsole for grip. The pairing of camo and leopard print places this release alongside other atmos collaborations that turned the Air Max 1 into a recurring canvas for animal-print design through the 2000s and 2010s. The gold silk finish gives the camo panels a warmer sheen than the flatter tones used on some of atmos's other Air Max 1 projects.
