Take the laces off an Air Jordan 1 and most of its visual language goes with them. That is the premise of the Low Slip, a women's build that replaces the lace eyestay with a smooth overlay, closes the tongue with a snap button and adds a Jumpman pull tab so the shoe can be pulled on one handed.
The black makeup pushes the idea further. Soft black leather runs across the panels with a perforated Swoosh set tonally on top, so from a distance the shoe reads as one continuous surface, interrupted only by the white midsole and outsole underneath. Structurally it is still the same shoe: Air cushioning in the heel, a rubber outsole, the collar cut to the same height as the Retro Low. It released on February 11, 2019 with a retail price of $90, and was made in women's sizes only.
