The Cloudsoma is On's trail shoe for feel rather than pace. It uses a cushioning system the brand calls CloudTec Connect, designed to flex with the foot's natural movement and pass terrain feedback up to the runner instead of damping it out. Helion HF hyper foam is tuned for that same connected sensation while still handling comfort and stability, and a Missiongrip outsole provides grip across mud, wet ground and stony paths. The upper uses a sock construction for a close hold on the foot. At about 195 grams in women's sizing it is notably light for a trail shoe (On lists the Cloudvista 3 at 240 grams), with a 6 mm heel-to-toe drop, recycled polyester content and production in Vietnam.
