43einhalb takes its name from the shoe size Fulda, Germany shop founders Mischa Krewer and Oliver Baumgart share, and the pair they built on the Club C Revenge leans on a similarly personal idea. 'Revenge of Rui' uses a panda-style black and white colorway to tell the story of a noodle-restaurant chef, working his nickname into the lace panels and an illustration onto the tongue label.
Reebok and 43einhalb released the pair on July 27, 2019 at $85, keeping the Revenge line's contrast heel tab and rubber cupsole underneath the collaboration's graphics. The white leather base leaves plenty of room for the black detailing to read as the panda reference driving the design, rather than relying on an added color for contrast, with the tongue label's illustration serving as the collaboration's clearest signature on the shoe.
