Saucony had already built a reputation on the Endorphin range before this one arrived. The Elite is where it stopped hedging.
The foam is new: PWRRUN HG, where HG stands for high gradient. The cells are graded across the width of the midsole, small at the edges and larger through the middle, which gives a firmer perimeter for stability and a softer, more resilient centre where the foot loads. Testers found it bouncier than the PWRRUN PB used in the Endorphin Pro despite measuring firmer.
The plate is unusual too. Instead of the spoon shape most super shoes use, Saucony went with a forked carbon plate and slotted the forefoot, aiming for a more adaptive ride, with an aggressive toe spring for turnover. Stack heights sit at 39.5mm heel and 31.5mm forefoot (right at the maximum permitted in competition), and the whole shoe comes in around 7.2 ounces in a men’s nine.
