A convertible heel changes how the Under Armour Echo SlipSpeed can be worn. Folded down, it allows the shoe to work as a slip-on; raised, it restores the enclosed rear section. This Black and White edition combines that mechanism with asymmetric lacing and a layered upper. The upper's flexible construction takes its cue from sports tape, making the arrangement of overlapping sections part of both the shoe's appearance and its intended feel around the foot.
The Echo brings together references from several parts of Under Armour's performance range. Its offset lacing draws on soccer-cleat construction and is intended to reduce pressure across the top of the foot. HOVR cushioning comes from the brand's running technology, while the SlipSpeed heel adds a separate everyday-use function.
