This one breaks from the rest of the family: it is the Classic Slip-On, the model with no lacing at all, held on by elastic gores at each side of a one-piece upper. There is no sidestripe to interrupt the panel, which is exactly why a pattern works better here than on a lace-up. Peace Paisley prints its teardrop motif across black suede, a heavier and more matte surface than the canvas the Slip-On usually wears.
At $60 it sits at the standard general-release price. The build is the brand's oldest and simplest: a padded collar, a foxing strip around the perimeter and the vulcanised rubber sole with its waffle tread, the same underfoot setup used on the lace-up classics. Slip-Ons have carried prints since the brand first sold checkerboard ones, and the uninterrupted upper is the reason; there is more usable surface on this shoe than on anything else in the range.
