ComfyCush is Vans' softer rebuild of its classic shapes, reworking the footbed and interior so a flat, thin skate shoe becomes easier to wear all day. This version dresses that platform in Carmine Rose, a saturated pink with enough brown in it to stay away from bubblegum, with True White supplying the sidestripe, the laces and the foxing tape around the sole.
The sidestripe is the focus here because the name says so, and on a single-colour upper it is the only line the eye can follow. At $85 the pair sits above a standard Old Skool, the usual difference for the cushioned build. Everything else carries over: the padded collar, the reinforced toe, metal eyelets and the waffle tread underneath.
