Where the everyday Stan Smith uses a green tab to break up the white, the Home of Classics version removes colour entirely and upgrades the materials instead. The upper is premium white leather with the usual three rows of perforations per side, the eyelets are metal finished in the same white, a Trefoil badge marks the heel, and the tongue label is nubuck with the branding embossed rather than printed. Underneath sits a Crystal White cupsole, an off-white shade that gives the shoe a slightly aged, ecru look against the brighter upper. It released October 17, 2019, at $90, the same price as the standard pair.
Home of Classics was a 2019 adidas Originals pack of court shoes, and its Stan Smith took the treatment of white leather, an ecru sole and embossed tongue markings in place of the regular label. That lands close to the minimalist white pairs designers and boutiques have produced with adidas since the shoe's January 2014 relaunch, but at a standard price instead of a collaboration one. The result is a more formal shoe than the green-tab original; the metal eyelets and matte nubuck read as dress details, and the off-white sole keeps the whole thing from looking stark.
