The Cumulus and the Nimbus both arrived in 1999, and the split between them has held ever since: the Nimbus takes the plush, expensive end, the Cumulus stays the everyday trainer. The twenty-fourth version narrowed the gap. ASICS moved it to a full-length FlyteFoam Blast midsole, the same family of foam used higher up the range, and added stack at the forefoot while keeping the weight around ten ounces, a change reviewers read as the biggest step the model had taken in several generations. The Lite-Show treatment on top is the brand's low-light collection, released each autumn with reflective panels on the shoe and matching detailing across apparel, timed for the months when training happens in the dark at both ends of the day. Black with a New Leaf green accent suits that: the upper disappears into an evening, and the reflective sections and green flash are the only parts meant to be noticed.
