A crisscrossing FLUIDFIT cage gives the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 20 its structured upper. Applied over breathable mesh, the TPU framework targets support around the foot while creating the shoe's recognizable technical appearance. This Black and Reddish Brown edition combines dark tones with the model's layered construction. GEL cushioning appears at both the rearfoot and forefoot, with a GUIDANCE TRUSSTIC system retained beneath the upper as another part of the support package.
Originally launched in 2013, the GEL-KAYANO 20 was developed for distance running. Its architectural appearance draws on buildings and cars, references reflected in the framework of the upper and the sculpted cushioning platform. The Sportstyle version preserves those features for everyday footwear, maintaining the relationship between the mesh base, cage and support components. The color treatment changes the presentation, while the structural elements continue to identify it as the twentieth GEL-KAYANO design.
