EARLS Collection’s GEL-Cumulus 16 draws on founder Lewi Brown’s childhood home and family. The broad knit structure of the upper references his mother’s knitting, and a graphic on the insoles reproduces a rug remembered from his youth. It is the Australian label’s second ASICS collaboration, following its earlier work on the GT-2160. The home references give this edition a different focus from a standard change of colors on an existing running silhouette.
The knit base sits beneath silver structural panels and contrasting black overlays around the toe and sides. Brown details appear at the heel and laces, while orange accents pick out the lace stabilizer and visible GEL cushioning. EARLS branding appears on the stabilizer and lateral heel tag, with ASICS branding on the tongue. Together, those placements distinguish the collaboration without losing the layered construction of the GEL-Cumulus 16.
