The Chuck 70 is not a colourway of the All Star, it is a different build. Converse introduced it to recreate the basketball shoe as it existed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, which meant heavier canvas, a rubber midsole that sits noticeably higher, a smaller toe cap, reinforced stitching along the sidewall, a sole moulded in one piece instead of three, and a black heel patch where the standard model wears white. The result is stiffer and holds its shape in a way the modern All Star does not.
All of that matters here because sequins need a structured shoe underneath them. This Pride edition runs a deliberately unmatched pair: silver sequins covering one side of the upper, multicolour sequins on the other, drawn from the More Color More Pride flag and its added stripes. The white midsole keeps the black pinstripe the Chuck 70 is built with, and the sockliner carries the words diversity, equality and love.
