Brown suede covers the toe, tongue, side panels and N logos of the New Balance Made in UK 991v1 Luxe Suede. The Cocoa with Castle Wall colorway sets that upper above a pale cream sole with tan cushioning windows and a dark rubber base. Lighter edges outline the overlapping panels, and warm brown laces run through the suede eyestay toward a small dark upper eyelet piece. The largely tonal upper makes its seams and exposed material edges especially apparent.
New Balance specifies suede that is not dyed all the way through, which explains the lighter contrast at its raw edges. This men’s version uses cow leather and includes embroidered branding alongside its suede N. ENCAP combines foam with a polyurethane rim, accompanied by ABZORB midsole pods and a rubber outsole.
