Gold is the reason this one works. A white leather base with royal blue overlays would be a straightforward two color makeup; replacing the Swoosh with a metallic gold one changes the register of the whole shoe, and repeating the gold on the Wings logo at the collar ties the two ends together.
Deep Royal Blue does the structural work, filling the toe, eyestay and heel counter so the shoe still reads as a conventional Air Jordan 1 from a distance. White keeps the quarter panels and the midsole clean. The woven tongue tag carries a Jumpman in red, the only place a fourth color appears anywhere on the shoe. This is the High cut in grade school sizing, released in July 2016 at a retail price of $95.
