Jordan Brand's Rare Air series works by changing small things. The shoes look like familiar retros until you get close, at which point the deviations show up, and on this one the deviation is written on the ankle: RARE AIR in place of the Wings logo that has sat there since the first pair.
The color is a near miss on purpose. Soar, a strong royal blue, covers the tumbled leather overlays over a white base, which puts it within touching distance of the original Royal scheme. The difference is the toe box, done here in black leather rather than blue, a single panel swap that changes the whole balance of the shoe. It released in 2017 at $140, on the standard Retro High build with Air cushioning in the heel and a white midsole underneath.
