Keith Hufnagel's San Francisco skate shop HUF partnered with Nike SB on this Dunk High Pro, released in November 2004 at $120 and limited to the Bay Area. A white base carries a tie-dye pattern through neutral grey and black, distressed across the leather panels at the toe and ankle for a worn-in look rather than a clean print.
HUF was one of the shops Nike SB leaned on early to build credibility with skaters who had already adopted the Dunk on their own before the SB line existed, and keeping the release to the Bay Area tied the shoe to Hufnagel's home city. The distressing on the leather does double duty, reading as a design choice while standing up to the wear a skate shoe is built for. Nike SB and HUF returned to the tie-dye idea nearly two decades later, but this 2004 pair, built on the standard high-top SB skate frame with a Zoom Air heel unit, was the original version.
