Grey is the colour the Air Max 1 wears most naturally, and this December 2018 pair leans into it completely. The upper follows the mixed-material formula that has defined the model since the late 1980s, when mesh met synthetic overlays before a leather version arrived in 1988: here, mesh panels sit under leather and suede overlays, all dyed within a narrow band of grey. White takes the trim, so the shoe reads as two tones rather than one. Branding is deliberately sparse.
