Ms. Pac-Man arrived in arcades in 1982 as an unauthorised modification of Pac-Man that Midway ended up licensing, and it went on to outsell the original in North America. The Dunk built around it prints the character nowhere; it works from the cabinet's palette instead. Vivid blue suede covers most of the upper, hot pink runs through the panels, and yellow edging traces the seams: the three colours the maze, the ghosts and the pellets are drawn in. A doubled Swoosh sits on each side rather than the single one, an early skate Dunk habit that gave the model more surface to colour-block. It released in May 2009 as a limited run rather than a general drop, part of a stretch when the skate line was mining video games, cartoons and food for reference points at a pace it has never matched since. The construction is the standard skate revision of the 1985 basketball shoe: thicker tongue, more collar padding, a Zoom Air unit under the heel. Soft suede was the era's default material, and it is the reason surviving pairs are usually worn at the toe.
