The Dunk Low Pro SB 'Takashi' is named for Takashi Hosokawa, Nike SB's first sales representative in Japan, rather than a professional skater or in-house designer. It released in March 2003, part of the label's early run of colorways built during what collectors call its Silver Box years, alongside other now-collectible early-2000s makeups.
The low-top uses a black leather and suede upper, kept simple aside from metallic gold accents on the Swoosh and heel tab. 'Family' embroidery finishes the design, a personal touch for a colorway named after a member of Nike SB's own team rather than an outside collaborator or team rider. A follow-up, 'Takashi 2', arrived as a Dunk Low Premium in October 2007, extending the tribute to a second release.
