Early Nike SB Dunks were named by the people who bought them. The programme shipped through skate shops in small quantities with almost no marketing, and colourways often arrived without official titles, so names came from forums and shop staff instead, descriptions that stuck permanently and are now used by resale platforms and by Nike. This pair came out in the middle of 2003 alongside a counterpart carrying the same two colours arranged in reverse, a pairing device the early range used more than once. True red leather and suede carry the upper, with black on the swoosh, tongue patch, heel tab and outsole, over the skate construction: padded tongue, Zoom Air in the insole. In 2003 that was equipment sold to people who would destroy it. The collector market arrived later.
