Two things separate the Retro High Zip from a standard Air Jordan 1, and both are visible from across a room. The first is the closure: a metallic zipper runs up the throat where the lace eyelets normally sit, turning the shoe into a step in design. The second is a branding swap, with Nike Air lettering written across the side panel in the position the Swoosh has occupied since 1985.
Mica Green sets the tone, a soft muted green suede that covers the quarter panels, toe and collar. Sail handles the midsole, and a small hit of red picks out the Wings logo at the ankle, the one place the shoe allows a contrasting color. Metallic Red Bronze appears on the hardware. This one was cut in women's sizes only and released on May 17, 2018 at a retail price of $150.
